Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th, 1980) was an American performer, actor as well as a dancer. Her career began with Broadway career performing in musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning director, actors, and producers for most of her career. Ashford will be next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will stream through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford will be seen alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis that swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceedings in over 100 years. Ashford was a part of two seasons of the cult CBS comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway performances. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and now divides the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
